COVID-19 WARNING and WAIVER OF LIABILITY: There is a risk of COVID-19 exposure in any public place. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that among adults, the risk of serious disease increases with age, and that those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. COVID-19 is a contagious, and evolving disease that can lead to severe illness and death.
While the MLSO strives to provide a safe environment for you— by having all adhere to masking requirements, requiring vaccination of musicians and staff, limiting exposures by shortening programs and foregoing intermissions—the inherent risks of COVID-19 exposure cannot be eliminated. By attending a MLSO concert or participating in MLSO-related rehearsals or other activities, you voluntarily agree to assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold MLSO or any of its directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury that may result from such exposure to COVID-19, whether such exposure and resulting disease/injury occurred before, during, or after such participation. You may also be asked to sign a release and waiver of claims upon attending one of our concerts acknowledging your assumption of these risks.
Rehearsals and two of our concerts this year will be at the Valley Forge Middle School. Those attending rehearsals and concerts will be expected to follow whatever health guidance and protocols the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District mandates.
For the protection of all, MLSO members and those attending rehearsals and concerts are expected to be fully vaccinated.
*String and percussion players are expected to wear masks at all times while indoors. Brass and wind players will comply with this standard, but if necessary, may remove their masks during times they are actively playing, or preparing to play. See Section 3(G)(1) Acting Secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Health Order Re Face Coverings in Schools. (Effective 9/7/21). While one of the pleasures of attending rehearsals, playing in our orchestra and attending concerts is socializing, we ask that MLSO members and audience members avoid congregating indoors even while wearing masks. We encourage socializing outdoors. We will use seating charts for orchestra rehearsals to allow for contact-tracing and to limit person-to-person contact.
